Artificial Grass Installation in Calcot

Calcot sits on the western edge of Reading, between Tilehurst and Junction 12 of the M4, split by the A4 between Tilehurst and Holybrook parishes. It's home to more than 9,000 people, and much of it is newer housing: Beansheaf Farm, Fords Farm and Calcot Place were among the more recent estates.

Gardens on newer estates tend to be compact, and that's where an artificial lawn makes a real difference. No mowing, no muddy patches by the back door, and a garden you can use every day of the year.

What We Can Do for Your Garden

Making the Most of a Small Garden

In a compact garden, the lawn is usually the biggest single surface, so getting it right changes how the whole space feels.

  • A soft, even surface right up to the patio, with no step down onto mud
  • Grass that drains fast, so it's usable soon after rain
  • Neat, straight edges against fences and paths that make the space look larger
  • No mower, strimmer or bags of clippings to find room for

We'll suggest a grass that suits how you use the space, whether that's somewhere for children to play or simply somewhere green to sit. See our grass range for the options.

Front Gardens and Kerb Appeal

Small front lawns are hard work for very little reward: awkward to mow, quick to look neglected and often worn by people cutting across them. An artificial lawn keeps the front of the house tidy all year. We lay it on a compacted base with a weed membrane and fix a firm edge where it meets the path or drive, so it stays put.

Pets in Smaller Gardens

In a small garden, a dog can wear a real lawn bare within a season. Artificial grass stands up to it, and our pet installations drain urine straight through a limestone base. Read more about artificial grass for dogs.

Calcot Artificial Grass FAQs

Is artificial grass worth it for a small garden?

Often more so than for a big one. In a small garden every square metre is used, and a real lawn that's muddy half the year makes the space feel smaller still. An artificial lawn is usable every day and needs no mower to store.

Why does a small area cost more per square metre?

Some costs don't change with size, such as bringing the team and materials, and cutting a roll to fit. On a small area those are shared over fewer square metres, so the rate is a little higher. Our most popular grass starts from £75 per m² supplied and fitted. More on pricing.

Can you lay artificial grass in a front garden?

Yes. It's a tidy, low-maintenance alternative to a small front lawn or a weedy gravel strip, and we fit a firm edge where it meets the path or drive.

Do you cover all of Calcot?

Yes, both sides of the A4, including Beansheaf Farm, Fords Farm, Calcot Place and the streets towards Tilehurst, plus nearby Theale and Southcote.

Is it OK for dogs?

Yes. All our grasses suit pets, and we build in drainage and a limestone base to stop smells.

Areas We Cover

As well as Calcot, we fit artificial grass across Reading, Berkshire and south Oxfordshire, including Tilehurst, Caversham, Theale, Woodley, Shinfield, Twyford, Earley, Sonning, Pangbourne, Charvil, Wokingham, Henley-on-Thames and Wallingford.
