Artificial Grass Installation in Wokingham
Wokingham has been a market town since its market rights were granted in 1219, and it has kept growing ever since. Today more than 50,000 people live in the built-up area, in neighbourhoods that span the decades: Woosehill, Dowlesgreen and Bean Oak went up on farmland in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Keephatch in the early 1990s, and large new estates are still being built to the north and south of the town.
Whatever the age of the house, the question we're asked is the same: how do I get a lawn that looks good all year without the work? That's what we fit.

Sports and playSand, Gravel and London Clay
Wokingham sits on the Bagshot Formation, which overlies London Clay, with the Emm Brook running through the town. That means drainage can vary a lot from one garden to the next: some drain freely, others stay soft and wet from October to April.
We look at how your ground drains before we price the job, then set the depth of the base to suit.
- Free-draining gardens: a standard compacted sub-base and weed membrane
- Heavy or waterlogged ground: a deeper base with more aggregate, so water runs through rather than pooling
- Low spots: levelled out during the groundwork, so the finished lawn is flat and even
- Edges: timber, sleepers or a flush finish against the patio, fixed firmly so nothing lifts
New-Build Gardens
New homes often come with turf laid in a hurry over compacted subsoil and leftover rubble. Within a year or two it's patchy, waterlogged in winter and cracked in summer. Laying artificial grass straight on top would only hide the problem, so we dig out the poor material first, build a proper base and then fit the grass. The result is a flat, firm lawn that drains, often for the first time since the house was built.
Parks, Walks and Dogs
With Cantley Park, Elms Field, Holt Copse and Joel Park on the doorstep, Wokingham is a good town for dog walks and a hard one for keeping a lawn tidy. Our pet installations use a limestone base that helps neutralise urine and drain it straight through, and we never add the sand infill that can hold smells. For dogs that like to chew, we have a 37mm grass with a non-toxic PU backing. More on artificial grass for dogs.

Wokingham Artificial Grass FAQs
How much does artificial grass cost in Wokingham?
Our most popular grass starts from £75 per m², supplied and fitted. That covers lifting the old lawn, the compacted sub-base, membrane, edging and the grass itself. See how we price a job.
My garden sits wet all winter. Will artificial grass help?
Yes, if the base is built for it. On ground that holds water we dig deeper and use more free-draining aggregate, so rain passes through the grass and away rather than sitting on top.
Can you replace the turf on a new-build garden?
Yes. We lift the turf, clear out any builders' rubble we find, build a proper free-draining base and lay the grass on top. That way the new lawn drains properly from day one.
Do I pay anything up front?
No. We take no payment until the job is finished and you're happy with it.
