Artificial Grass Installation in Henley-on-Thames
Henley-on-Thames is a riverside market town of around 12,000 people, nine miles north-east of Reading. It's best known for Henley Royal Regatta, held on Henley Reach every summer and "Royal" since Prince Albert became its patron in 1851, and for a town centre full of old buildings: the Old Bell is dated to 1325 and the five-arched bridge to 1786.
Gardens here range from small walled plots behind town houses to long lawns running down towards the river. We fit artificial grass in both, and in either case it has to look as good as the house it belongs to.

Sports and playSmall, Shaded Town Gardens
Behind many of Henley's older houses the garden is narrow and enclosed by walls, and real grass struggles. It gets little sun, it stays damp, and moss moves in. Artificial grass needs no light at all, so it stays green in the corners a real lawn gives up on.
- Grass cut tight to old brick walls, steps and paths
- A free-draining base, so damp corners dry out
- A grass that brushes clean of leaves and blossom
- No mower to carry through the house
A Lawn for Summer Entertaining
Regatta season fills the town, and plenty of gardens fill with guests too. A real lawn rarely recovers well from a party in a dry July or a wet one. Artificial grass takes chairs, tables and a lot of feet, then springs back after a brush. If you're hosting often, we'll suggest a denser grass that holds its shape under heavy use. Compare the options in our grass range.
Riverside Gardens and Flooding
Mill Meadows and Marsh Meadows go under water when the Thames is high, and some riverside gardens nearby flood every now and then. A real lawn can take months to recover. An artificial lawn on a properly built base just needs the silt brushing off and a rinse. We look at how often your garden gets wet during the survey and build the base to suit.

Henley-on-Thames Artificial Grass FAQs
Will artificial grass look right in an older garden?
It will if you choose the right grass. A longer pile with a mix of greens and a brown thatch at the base reads as a well-kept lawn. We bring large samples to the survey so you can see them in your own light.
Can you lay it in a small, shaded town garden?
Yes, and it often works better there than real grass, which thins out without sun. We use a free-draining base and a grass that's easy to brush clean of leaves.
What happens if the river floods my lawn?
The grass and membrane let water through. Once it has gone down, brush off any silt and hose the lawn clean. A well-built base stays flat afterwards.
How much does it cost in Henley?
Supply and fit starts from £75 per m² with our most popular grass; luxury grasses cost a little more. We confirm a fixed price after a survey. See our prices.
Do you cover the villages around Henley?
Yes, including Shiplake, Wargrave, Remenham, Harpsden and Rotherfield Peppard.
